Shop Local: Parcel Market Does Holiday Gifts Better

The holiday season in DC is filled with dozens of pop up markets like the Parcel Market in Canal Park. The local artisans were friendly and many market-goers, including me, brought their pooches along for the holiday hustle and bustle.

Fabulous Finds

Handmade Habitat

Super adorable artist Amina Ahmad designs candles and aromatherapy products.

SAVASANA Vegan Solid Perfume Balm

SAVASANA has a lavender eucalyptus scent that is not overpowering. Handmade is going to discontinue this product and their solid perfume balms on March 31, 2016. I loved this scent and it is great to rub behind your ears when you have a headache.

Infinity Aromatherapy Eye Pillow

I have a regular eye pillow for nighttime but this one is perfect for calming down after a stressful day. The lavender is soothing and helps me fall asleep easily.

Undone Chocolate

Delicious chocolate handcrafted in batches from organic and direct trade cacao sourced from small producers. These are true indulgence at $8 a bar, but worth every penny for the conscientious chocolate lover. The sipping chocolate was absolutely divine with a dark, rich flavor.

Co-owner Cody Alexander delightfully shared his knowledge of this shop's beautiful orchids. I walked away with one in hand and ended up buying some as holiday gifts using their free delivery service in DC. I am always on the lookout for local florists as I prefer not to use the big online companies so I was thrilled to hear that this duo offers local delivery on very short notice (like the day before Christmas).

Buffalo & Bergen

The famous "mixtress" of DC, Gina Chersevani (most recently of Union Market's Buffalo & Bergen) was slinging crafted cocktails for those who like something nice to sip on while doing their shopping. For the holidays only, Buffalo & Bergen fixed up some of Gina's mixers for sale. Crowds flocked to watch renowned mixologist in her natural element.
